ABOUT

Lia Gabriela Flores Palacios – Case Strategist, Jaguar Business Club

Hello, my name is Lia Gabriela Flores Palacios and I just graduated from UC Berkeley with a BS in Society and Environment, BA in Political Science, and a minor in Sustainability. I’m currently taking SWC paralegal courses in civil litigation, legal research, and other areas while interning with Garrison English Esq. and studying for the LSAT. I am simultaneously overseeing RFPs and C2C contracts at Synergy Data Inc., coordinating with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

My coursework and experience connect law, the environment, business, and technology. I’ve worked with QGIS, Google Earth Engine, and R for sustainable data analysis, and I use LexisNexis, Westlaw, and HeinOnline for legal and regulatory research. I’ve also worked with two startups and two nonprofits, and contributed to others through academic and policy channels.

I’ve lobbied in Sacramento and attended a conference in Washington DC with Latina and immigrant empowerment organizations, served as a UC Alianza Climate Ambassador, and contributed to the inaugural UC Berkeley Latinx Thriving Initiatives Committee. I’ve led student action groups, worked in education and customer service, and published articles with the Berkeley Political Review and Women in Politics. I also gained a deeper understanding of monetary policy through the Federal Reserve Challenge.

Living and working in both Mexico and the United States taught me adaptability and appreciation for different perspectives. My family is at the center of everything I do. They keep me grounded, patient, and grateful.

I’m now working toward a future in law and technology where I can help design fair and practical solutions. My interests include AI governance, intellectual property, climate technology, and the growing space economy.
